We just returned from a fabulous week-long vacation at Disney World (there’s nothing like celebrating your 40th birthday at the most magical place on earth to make you feel young) and the weather was so gorgeous here in Charleston, I could not refrain from doing a little extra Easter decorating outdoors.
The garland over our front door was made from a hodgepodge of various floral arrangements. I started with a green boxwood garland I’ve had for several years. I simply stapled it to the wood door frame. I recycled all of the pink flowers you see off of a shoddy old Walmart wreath. The yellow and cream flowers are also recycled from other floral arrangements. If they had stems, I simply tucked them in or under the boxwood. If not, I used the staple gun to attach. Lastly, I added an Easter Egg garland I had made a few years ago. I’ll take this down after Easter, but I’ll leave the flowers up throughout April.
Not related to decorating at all, but super cute and springy…this little fellow has made himself a little nest by my front door.
I found this Bunny Lantern at Pier 1 last year and could not resist him. Hubby loves! He’d leave him out all year if I let him.
Then I decorated the tree out front by attaching two eggs to either end of a piece of ribbon (I used a small piece of scotch tape) and draping the ribbon over a tree branch. I made twenty of these (with the help of Version 1.0) which yielded forty eggs swaying in the breeze.
My little sweet pea played nearby while Mommy decorated (in pajamas, of course).
Hippity, Hoppity…Easter’s on its way!
