My Story

Hello!  I’m Kelly Hedlund.  Welcome to my blog!

I love absolutely anything that involves the creative mind!  If I can make it, build it, craft it, or decorate it myself, I will.  I adore projects and usually (much to the dismay of my husband) have several going on at once.  I call this going into “Project Mode”, and I go into project mode a lot!  It just makes me happy.  I am an avid pinner and reader of other DIY blogs.  If I’m not already involved in a project, I’m curled up in my recliner sipping a Dr. Pepper, looking for my next inspiration or catching up on other people’s projects.

As for the man behind the scenes…I met and fell in love with this fellow when we were nineteen and twenty respectively.  In 2002, we married, and it has been an awesome thirteen years!  He is my best friend; the sweetest, funniest, most genuine person I know.

When Hubby isn’t cooking the best shrimp and grits in Charleston, tinkering on his boat, or checking out the latest posts on the Key West Boat forum, he’s out in the backwaters slaying the red fish (his true passion).  But every once in awhile, I can convince him to join me in tackling some DIY project around the house!  I love working with him, love that he indulges my whims when he’d rather be relaxing, and love that no matter how hard the task at hand becomes, we are always able to get in some laughs!

As for these two little monkeys, they have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with decorating or DIY projects; in fact, most of the time, they are wreaking havoc in one part of the house while Mom and Dad work in another!  But I love them nonetheless.  It is for them I create a beautiful home.

Up until now, my creative happy place has always been in my heart, mind, and home working on a project surrounded by the people I love most.  Now I get to share that happy place with you!  Welcome.
